And they can be repaired but the cracks forever remind us of the break. That's what my ex said about our marriage and added, "I'd rather get a new cup."
I've had the same dishes for 25 years now. Occasionally one gets chipped, but if they ever really broke, I would be heart-broken! I hope I have these dishes for the rest of my life, and if I treat them with LOVE, I will.
Once we let go of our preconceived expectations and perceptions of people, we get to see the REAL person and that is also when we experience REAL love... Unconditional love is loving what is real, and that is how we take our personal power back, for the other is no longer responsile for our happiness.
I love this aphorism. The facade of never having a chink in the armor of "yeah, I'm cool" is a bland and exhausting charade that I have fallen into at times. It's so much juicier and honest to say- sometimes I'm a mess! We don't have to pretend to be perfect. There's power in our woundedness and vulnerability. Thank you for this aphorism.
As always, I thoroughly enjoyed these. Thank you for continuing to delight us all. One of them reminds me of the great words of Dlyan: "She takes just like a woman, yes she does She makes love just like a woman, yes she does And she aches just like a woman But she breaks just like a little girl." (And dishes.) Cheers, Cathy
