The feeling of being unappreciated is a failure to appreciate others.

  1. You ALWAYS seem to post something that is in parallel to something happening in my life...like an angel of signs :) well, i never thought about it that way, i have recently felt very unappreciated at work (soon to write about it of course lol)but i never looked at it as a failure to appreciate others?!!! hmmmmmmm food for thought, i gotta ponder on that one for a while and see where it takes me. Bless you Marty :)

  2. I don't know, I'm a believer in if I can't love me, I can't love anyone else. Not so much that I have any great knowledge to back this up, it's just been my experience in life.

  4. Hmmm... Interesting thought. I've always felt you can't love others -- at least not well -- unless you love yourself first. At the same time, I do think it's important to appreciate those around you. The inability to do so limits your capacity to feel appreciated. How's that for a wishy washy reply! :)

  5. can be true, you receive what you give, but it is a matter of know great people in your life, some people are obsequious and are nice for free, and you need show yourself like you really are, without masks, and people accept you personality and vice versa. A hug. Mario

  6. Oh...this could be true, maybe the fact of us realizing that we are unappreciated could just as well be an after-effect of our conscience, of knowing we have failed to appreciate others.

  7. Very true... when we're so caught up in ourselves that all we focus on is "getting our appreciation" we don't notice all around us.

    Insightful as always! :)

  9. This puts the responsibility back in the court of each individual. If you want to be liked, you need to like others; if you want to be loved, you need to love others; if you want appreciation, then you need to appreciate others. Otherwise you have false friendship, false love, and envy instead of appreciation.

  11. It's cool: “The feeling of being unappreciated is a failure to appreciate others.” Nice one - I've felt stuff like this myelf only I didn't tell nobody about it when I could've done either.

  13. This is basically like saying what goes around comes around. How could an unappreciative person be appreciated? And when you appreciate others, appreciation comes to you like a sweet breeze.

Striking statement. So obvious. So true. Yet so unnoticed.

  15. THIS is what I am trying to drill into my mate's head, and he doesn't get it! Urrrgh!
It's always so pleasant to visit here, release my rage, and feel cleansed. Positively a spiritual cleansing.

  16. I agree. If we look at the whole picture, we see that we are all imperfect and that none of us get what we want, all the time. Not even most of the time....

Feeling unappreciated often goes along with being self-centered, although not always.
