Use to have a cat called Lekker - a beautiful baby she was.
Besides the deep meaning of your aphorism, as usual, is true when cats are declawed (which is very cruel!) they will still use their scratch post, carpet or anything else (like your legs) scratchable with a very happy face! You see they are just marking their territory.
