Handing one's troubles over to God makes sense even to an atheist.

  1. We are tried through troubles; they forge us into who we are.

  3. Take a piece of paper and envision it as your troubles. Take a deep breath, crumple the paper and throw it as far as you can like you're throwing it out there in the universe. Breathe deep again and know the Universe have taken care of it. Have faith. :)

  4. Wow--this is so true. I can remember one time in particular, I got on my knees and prayed to God. I wasn't sure if I believed in him and it really didn't even matter--just the act of releasing my worries into some other entity was all I really needed to do.

Take care, Marty--these are all wonderful, as usual.

  5. Very true indeed...just the act of releasing your troubles lightens the load, no matter what you believe in.... :)

  6. Sorry, but I totally disagree with this. Handle your OWN troubles! Rod's siblings are evangelicals, and they believe that no matter what kind of financial shit they are into, God will take care of it. Hello! He doesn't! You have to work your ass off, and pray to God that He will let you live long enough to pay off your bills. Now that MIGHT work. But don't count on it. And Don't ask me for a loan. They did that once before and then filed for bankruptcy. We never saw a DIME!

    That got me thinking.

  8. Had a good chuckle over this one. I'd call it improving the odds.

  9. I also disagree with the words in post but that's because I do not believe that the construct of God that most people believe in actually exists. I hear the sentiment in the post clearly and I'm not a worrier. I take responsibility for everything I can today, and I accept the things that I cannot change with as much grace as I can, knowing full well that change is the only constant in this Universe. Thanks for making me think every day. ;)

  10. This one has a great perspective in it, especially because of the "twist." Nice one!
