I agree with Milo, we have to remain focused on the creative stag of life, because time will wait for no one especially, for one who settles or has become complacent. " A rolling stone gathers no moss".
Is this the voice of experience speaking? If so what happened to you in the clearing that made you flee from the light of knowledge and seek the jungle of ignorance again? Personally I will stay in the clearing because it strips me of all the lies I told others and myself. Here I will not only accept the truth but welcome it.
Oh, Marty, I LOVE this post!!! I have this same discussion with my husband all the time. I am always trying to make the serene moments last forever and devise a way to get to a point where they can. In fact, I think I waste too much precious time trying to figure out how to stay there instead of just trying to get there more often!
If I ever find the clearing, I won't know what to do with myself.
ReplyDeleteI found the clearing but it was empty.
ReplyDeleteIs this something about not seeing the forest for the trees? I'm stumped (no pun intended).
ReplyDeleteWe can't allow our creativity to stagnate. There is always more work to be done, more discoveries to be made...
ReplyDeleteWe're always in transit anyway--we can never stay anywhere too long. Life is fluid--always moving. We need to move with it.

ReplyDeleteI won't stay in the clearing- makes me overexposed and vulnerable.

I'll be honest. I wasn't sure what you meant on this one. But after reading Melinda's comment I think she has it nailed.
ReplyDeleteInteresting and thought provoking Marty.
Why can't we stay in the clearing? This one has got me thinking. Care to shed some insight Mart?
ReplyDeleteI would love to hear your take about it.

ReplyDeleteMan will never be satiated, in the good sense of the statement.
