My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
Before you can teach anyone anything, you need to first learn yourself.
Advice timed perfectly for my reunion with the little buggers tomorrow...
so true...
...and more importantly: be open mind to learn with them!
Kids have as much to teach as we do. It's an interesting exchange if you're open to it.
Teach children to be creative and have ideas of their own, instead cramming their minds with too many facts. Sometimes, I think, my school has corrupted my mind. lol
Let the children the freedom to explore, be themselves and not force them to be a copy you want them to be.
Admittedly I'm not really inclined towards being "taught"; learning from someone is another matter.
Teaching and learning is circular. When I used to teach I learned more than I taught.
Brings Rudolf Steiner to mind
Everyone can be our teacher. Even the little buggers.
I think I can comprehend this, somebody said it...be open-minded when you teach and learn along.
I don't have children--but I think parents too often see their own reflection in their kids, rather than letting their child be her/his own person. Good advice, Marty.
I would replace 'what they would' with 'how to'and leave the rest of the sentence to speak for every dedicated intelligent teacher.
I agree with mtyler77 based on my observation and experience. Parents would do well assisting their children finding their own person. :)
Yes. I agree, too. He is the other character even if it is my child. I can control nobody except me. Thank you for visiting my blog. ruma
