My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
I like this, on this most Joy Full of days. Spring taught me hope; and autumn, patience.
ReplyDeleteWinter is a time of rest and renewal for us.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness summer always returns.
ReplyDeleteSummer is a time before the harvest. This is a time to grow in the sun. As time move forward we must appreciate all of the good things in life while it is day. Thank you for such a fine post.
ReplyDeleteI would like to add:
ReplyDelete"A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken".
-- James Dent
Love the Summer days :)
ReplyDeleteWhere do spring and fall fit in? n.p. I thought of you today when I read an article that mentions Walt Whitman. It's a short essay called "Tuning Fork" and I think you might like it. It is by Jan Frazier and you can find it on her website, janfrazierteachings.com.
ReplyDeleteOn this Midsummer Day my comment waits for the night that will follow: dream on and do not let the lack of darkness prevent you from knowing the stars.
ReplyDeleteI love summer. My birthday is in summer and I hated school so much growing up that summer always brought me the promise of happiness (and new toys!).
ReplyDeleteI was born on the summer solstice--a magical time!
As a native Chicagoan that knows full well about character-building climate, this is most appreciated. Winter always fosters a good in-the-trenches-together mentality that makes Summer utterly euphoric, yet keeps the folks humble all year round :)
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season is Autumn, so if I had to characterize it in a word, I'd say, "nostalgia." It's what year-after-year reminds me of family and a blessed childhood. It impacts me so much so that last year I ended up waxing a lil' poetic on my work blog, of all blogs, which is usually just practical advice...if remotely interested: http://bit.ly/aLEfoG and http://bit.ly/bpCXCj
Two aphorisms a day keeps the doldrums away.
