Praise, like happiness, is a form of wealth. Spread it all around.

  1. agree! that's what many chinese people should learn to do.
many chinese people feel difficulty to give praises to others. i personally believe that the reason is simply because they did not receive enough praises from their parents since they were little.

  2. I agree completely, but do you ever find it can have the opposite effect as what you intend?

Meaning, you praise someone but they think you are insulting them by being sarcastic? I have, it's a very odd, product of your environment feeling. Just wondering.

  4. Yes, and that includes leaving comments. My mom always said you catch more flies with honey.

  5. I absolutely agree and I try to put this into practise at every opportunity. I would go so far as to say that spreading praise is an obligation.

I'll let you know about happiness when I find a consistent amount to carry with me.

  6. I only give praise to people who accept it with modesty. Consider yourself praised!

  8. Well said. Most of us are far too quick to criticize and far to slow to praise. I believe this is because we live in a callous and competitive climb to the top society where little value is placed on cooperation.

  9. that is one thing about me i have no control over, when ever i any kind of beauty i cannot stop my self to WOW,beauty means a lovely thought, graceful look or honest effort of some for better,

it just make me just express my feeling immediately and honestly,
i believe every thing is created by creator has something especial in it ,it is up to us that we find it and praise it,this way we also prove our ability to recognize things with their depth and courage that we have big heart and peaceful heart.
so let me say it again that glad to find you.god bless

  10. All of us here certainly need that a lot, both on the giving and also the receiving end ...if not, why bother coming over here :):)

  11. I love this one. It's a big beef of mine. We're so quick to point out what's wrong with someone or something, but loll when it comes to recognizing what's right. Affirming good behavior leads to better behavior. I wish the world doled out more of it.

  12. My mum said the same thing about catching flies with honey. I tried it and it worked so well that I had to wash about 200 flies and put them out to dry, whereupon they flew away to resume
their lives. Mum said I had taken her maxim literally and that she meant making friends by saying nice things. I asked her what this had to do with catching flies. I had to go to my room for the rest of the day. Thus, I began to take maxim seriously in the fourth grade.

  14. Agreed. It's great to pay people compliments and say uplifting things to them. They may have needed that upliftment more than you knew:-)

  17. This is so very very true. There are those who hold onto their praises of others, for the fear that each time they praise another, they lose something of their own, I find this to be very sad, because, as you have put it into words, praise is a form of WEALTH, if you can praise another, that means you are more wealthy than some! So spread it around! Don't hide it!

  18. I think it's like my body. When all is going right, I don't always take the time to think about it and be thankful. But as soon as I get sick or have an ailment, I can't think of anything else.
When people around me are doing exactly what I'm expecting them to do, the praise doesn't always rain out of my mouth. Only when they don't meet those expectations do I take notice. But I work on getting better at this.

  19. It's nice to be praised, isn't it. But don't let it go to your head and make you egoistic. It's one of the things that I've learned in my short life. =)
