Very interesting! It's kinda like...you need to be happy from the inside in order to shine. But then again in order to stay balanced you do need to have a shadow side ^_^.
Well...something like that. My mind is running in circles today.
Wow, what a sutil, ambiguous and subliminal aphorism NP!!!
As I borrowed the abreviation from another reader, I got also some clues here from other's comments! So, it's the eternal battle between good & evil, day & night, black & white, light & dark, yin & yang...
Everybody (and even every event) has both sides, it's natural and good to have them, the problem is how to balance these two faces of the same coin!
@Judie: On your fridge! Absolutely! Super idea. @Layla & TJ: The dark I'm talking about has neither light nor shadow. @C.Bosco: Thanks for noticing the connection with Monday's aphorism. @Guy:That light's on, even when you "don't get things." @Vania:I'm sorry my aphorism made you dizzy. It's not that complicated. The simplest interpretation is probably the best. @Anne Marie: I think so, too! @Suzanne: So glad to see you here. All those beautiful photographs show you're an artist serving the light.
This post reminds me of the reason why we're commanded to let our light so shine, so that others may see.. be the example and most importantly, be a positive one.
NP, I think God has given the ability to differenciate betwen right and wrong. If we don't use that inner ability we would not be able to recognise the truth.
I like your interpretation the most for the aphorism is coined in your heart.
When one is in the dark one is more capable of seeing the faintest light. I am glad to be in the darkness that will lead me toward a light that is still far beyond the horizon of man’s imagination.
It comes and goes for me. Sometimes I just don't get things. And maybe that's how it's supposed to be.
ReplyDeleteThat just about sums everything up, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteEverything has its shadow side.

Now I am very dizzy!
I have to say that the light is in me most of the time unless it pops out the top of my head in the form of a light-bulb.
ReplyDeleteWhen I am in the dark, I am REALLY in the dark. Hey, can I print out your post and put it on my 'fridge??
Shine from the inside out.Without light there is no life.
ReplyDeleteLife, light, consciousness; lot's of great ways to read this, and it's a great follow up to Monday's aphorism.

'The light' is in everyone. But most of us have covered it with ignorance.
ReplyDelete@Surjit: That's right. See my comment to Guy above. In a way I'm saying, that nobody's really in the dark, that light is always in them.
