My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
Did you have me in your mind when you wrote that aphorism? Of course, I am a delusional.
ReplyDeleteyet dreams may come true.
ReplyDeleteDon't think this is necessarily true - for some, dreams are hope in a life of despair...
ReplyDeleteKind regards.

I remember this one, but I can't for the life of me put my thinger on who first said it -- better ask old Geary!
ReplyDeleteNothing against dreaming, but unless it's backed up with action, it's little more than a distraction and a waste of time. Why dream of another life when you can make the most of the one you've already got? Being happy and content is actually a lot easier than being dissatisfied and unhappy. All it takes is a simple decision.
ReplyDeleteThere is an ancient Chinese saying: "foods in other people's plates are always more delicious". Many people don't really know how to appreciate what they have in their hands.
ReplyDeleteI'm definitely a day dreamer. I find that the sadder I am, the more I day dream so I guess on days when this life is perfect we really don't need to dream of another.

ReplyDeleteI'm a HUGE day dreamer and, yes, sometimes I do it too much. Seriously. It's my number one vice.
ReplyDelete"The grass is greener" is both a good and bad outlook. Great post!
ReplyDeleteI try very hard to live my life far more than dreaming of another one.
ReplyDeleteMake the life you are living the life you want. No regrets.
ReplyDeleteTo pass comment... one must have something to comment upon.
ReplyDeleteSo true, and sometimes it's not until we get to the other side of that green grass that things don't look as rosy as we thought. Some dreams are meant to be just that... a dream to brighten our days here.
ReplyDeleteSpending all one’s time dreaming of another life means we miss the enjoyment and opportunities of the life we are currently living, and that surely is a waste.
ReplyDeleteAmen.
ReplyDeletePlagiarism is beneath the pail...
ReplyDeleteI am not a waster of this life anymore. Thank you for spreading the wisdom.
