My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
Taking the time to know your own mind
For mind can move only when it is still.
What I've discovered is that physical activity and being outside, enjoying Nature, accomplishes both.
So true. Stillness is the freedom of the mind (just like movement is the freedom of the body), because when your mind is still it is free from worry or free from being occupied by extraneous thoughts. Good aphorism!
I love it. And it inspired me to write - What mind body exercise is all about

This is true! -- It is better to be like a stone thrown skipping across the water, than a be a pregnant pudding in the oven.
Ooh. I like that, Marty. My mind definitely "calms down" when I'm active. It's nice to get that break!

Wow, this is a very very good one. The key is balance, otherwise you have movement without purpose or stillness without action.
