Some people don't appreciate what they have :)
ReplyDeleteOften driven by fashions of the moment.
ReplyDeleteCheers, ic
ironic yet very true!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite quote from high school Latin class is "De gustibus non est disputandum (There is no disputing of tastes). Snobbery is a form of ignorance, and snobs have less fun. They really don't know what they're missing out on.
ReplyDeleteSo very true. You get folks that are so keen to be above it all that they forget to have any fun.
ReplyDeleteGood one, Marty! Some people pride themselves with having good taste yet live in a sterile environment, unable to let loose and have fun. I am reminded of those fashion couches in homes many years ago, supposedly very tasteful but covered with plastic and you were never allowed to sit on them. Just for show. Yes, such good taste but no enjoyment!
ReplyDeleteSo true. Too much of anything is not good.
ReplyDeleteOh, Marty, I can't tell you how much I love this one! Absolutely fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI agree,
ReplyDeleteKnow-it-alls sometimes can't enjoy at all.
That's extremely true. There are some people who just can't enjoy anything because its not good enough.
ReplyDeleteThought-provoking.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely awesome.
ReplyDeleteBetter nothing than 'watery tart'. The deluge of third rate writing is one example.
ReplyDeleteI met some people who meet this description. They look down on everything and nothing seems to bring them pleasure. I was very happy when the evening ended.
ReplyDeleteI suspect that behind a lot of good taste there is someone making hay while the sun shines on this year's good taste.
