Only you can be yourself.
ReplyDeleteTo know yourself is search deep within and access a level of creativity the world has yet to see. What we truly are will set us apart from all others.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! In the end we are all alone.
ReplyDeleteIt is a shame so many people find it hard to be themselves, once you stop fighting it, it is the easiest thing in the world.
ReplyDeleteYes, individuality over conformity, marching to the beat of your own drum, that’s how you create your own beautiful music. I love this aphorism!
ReplyDeleteThat much is very true. It can even be said that since music is always heard different, any music you play even music you've heard before, it unique in its own right.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely true to individuality.
ReplyDelete(I guess I have come to this aphorism before and commented...?)
ReplyDeleteUtter truth, that! Everyone has unique footprints. You must walk before you can leave yours.
It makes me think about the first time I heard myself sing on a recording. My voice sounded different than how it sounded in my head. I liked both versions, but preferred the voice in my head. There's no small amount of magic to be felt when you feel -- not just hear -- sound come from your lips. The same is true when I play the piano or guitar.
ReplyDeleteThis is true, I have learned this lesson more and more as I get older:)
ReplyDeleteYep and I listen to the music of my inner child. The music of truth.
ReplyDeleteThat's what's so fascinating about experience, how it can be shared yet so deeply personal.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this wonderful quote!
ReplyDeleteThis is the reason why I write.
Yes, I played the triangle solo once, and I was chucked out of school for it too.
ReplyDeleteNice one NP.... But try telling that to Beethoven :)
ReplyDeleteThis is wonderful! Everything is within yourself.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and true. A lovely discovery to make. A terrible loss when left unheard.
ReplyDeleteYes Marty, but it's also literally true in my case, because whatever song I hear that I like, I sit down at the piano to reconstruct it. Then I add extra bits and run it into other songs that remind me of it.
ReplyDeleteAs such, I'm self-sufficient, but when I play for others and they enjoy, it gives me great satisfaction.
Of course, it's symbolically true as well, but at the same time, all the music is within me, hundreds and hundreds of songs. We all have, in our myriad ways, hundreds and hundreds of things at our fingertips.
Play it again, Marty!
