True, but if you put out plenty of seed, it will stay in your back yard, nest, and have babies.
ReplyDeletenice way to put it :)
DeleteI guess it's about light & shade.
ReplyDeleteCheers,

Pleasure that's sustained for too long can become painful, just like sitting in one place for too long...they're two sides of the same coin. I don't go looking for them necessarily, but pleasurable moments always seem to find me. They're free to come and go as they wish.
ReplyDeleteWell, dang. That's too bad. I hope your tree has a lot of branches then!
ReplyDeleteand neither does sorrow unless you invite it to stay :-)
ReplyDeleteTotally true to me! :-)
ReplyDeleteAnd probably all the more we must be enjoying each moment and keep choosing to be happy.
ReplyDeleteVery nice NP. The harder you pursue it the faster it flies away.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful simile and metaphor. Pleasure is fickle and ephemeral.
ReplyDeleteMaybe to remind us to not sit on one branch for too long. To go, do, live, explore and pleasure will come along.
ReplyDeleteI think if we work hard we can experience it more often.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Published a quote on my website as well, next time you stop by read and tell me what you think of it, I have a different style, there is no way I can compete with you :)

ReplyDeleteVery deep words of wisdom, pleasure is a fleeting desire we all chase, she is an elusive mistress.
ReplyDeletePleasure is wonderful when you experience it, but it’s a transitory emotion. Like the sparrow, it comes and goes in fleeting moments.
ReplyDeletepleasure is to see your words
