My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
Thank-you! I love this one!
ReplyDeleteI agree with not taking yourself too seriously. But I believe some subjects are important.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! There are probably a FEW serious subjects out there, but the number of people who take themselves too seriously far outweigh them. Love it!!
ReplyDeleteWith our myopic visions, we can see only so far, and no more. It always feels great to lighten up oneself, in the grand scheme of things.
ReplyDeleteVery neat, if perhaps a little trite, and quite not profound enough!
ReplyDeleteThat's very true,
ReplyDeleteLet's "Live Life Light; Live Like Light"
Cheers!
I know some people that the mention of some subjects will cause them to tense up and be borderline enraged....some people take themselves too seriously indeed.
ReplyDeleteI like it :)
ReplyDeleteThere are some serious subjects that are no laughing matter, but I agree that some people take themselves much too seriously. It's good to remember to lighten up:)
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteVery true!

Don't take life too seriously they say. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Marty for considering my blog worthy of your aphorism.
ReplyDeleteThanks again
well said np!
ReplyDeleteha! we all need a good laugh den
ReplyDeleteIt's subjective as always. I lean towards lightness even when I'm heavy.
ReplyDeleteFor perspective on a subject, or yourself, ask:
ReplyDeleteWhat will it matter in a hundred years?
I totally agree with the aphorism.
What is cleverer, a man or a bogy? A man, because a bogey is just green and icky but a man can think it's so.
ReplyDeleteJimBo!
I am the No. 1 aphoriser here, not whatshismane!

...and there is no "Chair" without humans! Better find my chair before it is too late....:):)
ReplyDeleteMarty, thanks for the sweet comments on my post. "Bad Moon Rising" is for sale, if you are interested. It is surprisingly inexpensive, too.
ReplyDeleteWhen I get tired and overworked, I find that I start taking myself way too seriously. I needed this aphorism today. Thank you.
I'm definitely NOT one of those. ;-)

I like this aphorism, it is a little "tricky", because you must take things serious because it is the best way to do a good job and it is because can be you a perfeccionist but the aphorism sounds like vanity is around you, man can be humble but I think he must be serious without losing fun of course, taking things like fun in order to perfection. Thank you for the visit. Visit my blog more frecuently, my friend! Hugs! Mario.
ReplyDeleteEXACTLY! Good one, Marty.
