There's something braver than dying for the truth-living without it.

  2. Thanks for your kind note on my post. We feel really lost right now without our little girl.

  3. I agree. How many" Truths" are there out there? Enough for everyone to have one and live by it. ..and that takes much bravery over, perhaps, a long span of time.

  4. What I meant to add to the above was that most people can't summon up the bravery to live by a "Truth", but to live without a "truth" requires just as much, if not bravery, then conviction.

  5. What an insightful thought. So many in this world suffer from hunger and despair, and hopefully we acknowledge that. But those who live without truth and survive in spite of it have absolute courage.

  7. Truth sometimes bring more harm than good. It has evoke hatred in a lot of cases. Ignorance is hundred times better than error.

Anyway, just because someone dies for the truth doesn't make it true.

  8. Millions of human beings have sacrificed their lives for the so-called "one and only one Truth". Millions of humans have killed other humans for their so-called "one and only one Truth", while proclaiming their God the ONLY God) was on their side.

My life is precious and I will not sacrifice it for any so-called truth not will I kill another to defend a so-called truth. It takes far more courage to live than it does to become either a sacrificial lamb or a killer.

  9. Truth and honesty have been the hardest of all lessons for me to learn. I'm getting there--but without truth and honesty, you cannot have any relationship.

  10. I would have to disagree with you on this one NP
The thing that is braver than dying for the truth is living with the truth.

  11. Believe me: The truth is of variable quality when bartered between fools!

  12. Truth is so subjective isn't it?

When I was one year sober, I was given a Recovery 'chip'. On the reverse it says
"To thine own self be true"
It's an axiom I endeavour to live by every day.

  13. @Timethief: wonderful words. It takes so much more courage to live through despair, dishonesty, injustice, poverty....and yet so many people do it, day after day.

  14. I'm not sure I agree,as far as subjective truth is the subject, and not "True Believers." As Juliana began:

"To thine own self be true,
Then it must follow, as night the day,
Thou canst then be true to any man.
Farewell! Let my blessing season this in thee."

No matter what, it's definitely food for thought.
