Glad To Be Alive

If you're glad to be alive the rest doesn't matter.

  1. Just lost my original comment so I'll try again:
How appropriate NP. Last week I had major surgery with aftercare complications and yesterday we found out that my partner has cancer which has been caught early. WE ARE BOTH GLAD TO BE ALIVE TODAY....

  2. Beautiful. To be alive, peaceful, happy, here and now.

  3. We often loose sight of the fact that life is a gift and we should be happy that we are alive. Very nice, Nothing profound! :D

  4. Not only does this attitude of humility enable us to push through life's deepest suffering and overcome seemingly insurmountable odds, it makes ordinary moments extraordinary.

  5. I cannot but agree, Marty. Few of us want to die.

  6. Then I guess the rest doesn't matter. Some days I have to remind myself it's just a gift to be here!

  7. If "you're glad to be alive", at least you're still there to be critical about it.

  8. If your being glad to be alive means the rest doesn't matter, then I think people would fail to strive to overcome terrible odds and life situations. Why would people work three jobs and go without too be able to put their kids through college, make those mortgage payments after their spouse dies, or pound the pavements for months or years searching for a job after they've been laid off? I mean, why bother if your appreciating that you have life, and the fact that you have life, negates the importance of the details of the things that occur in that life?

On an optimistic cloud this might be true, but I think the reality is, which is evidenced by the actions of people worldwide, that the opposite is true in most cases. If you're glad to be alive, the rest matters far more.

  9. Life will be boring if there is no obstacle to overcome. It is killing if your obstacle is too difficult to overcome. Glad to be alive when you have just pulled it through. And hopefully there will be the next obstacle to challenge you!

  11. You cannot fully enjoy life unless you’re glad to be alive every day!
