The quest for understanding the true self is limitless. Someone who thinks he has known everything about himself hasn't delved deeper and has not been in pursuit. The more I think I have understood the depth of this aphorism, the deeper it seems. I am in eternal pursuit!
Nicely put, Marty! What is more evolutionary than the inner workings of a person's mind and heart? Aging only brings more questions as the older ones are answered. Are you also an enigma to yourself? Curious minds need to know... :)
We come out of this world knowing everything we really need to know, and spend most of our lifetimes, forgetting. Those who are intrigued enough eventually remember. (First comment had a typo).
Although I like all your choices, this, in its elusive, circular quality, must be one of my all time favorites. It's so true--we really are mysteries to ourselves, even when we think we've grasped our internal motivations and desires. You do a beautiful job with these.
Perrrrrfect!
ReplyDeleteExcellent one NP. My new favorite.

ReplyDeleteAn answer always begins with a question.
ReplyDeleteA real mind bender - I love it!

ReplyDeleteI don't think it's possible to understand everything about your self. Somethings will remain puzzling.
ReplyDeleteTHEN CALL ME THE SPHINX! thanks NP xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI like this one...but honestly, it is quite true too.
ReplyDeleteI thought I'd come up with an enigmatic response but not.

ReplyDeleteA simple yet profound statement!
ReplyDeleteThis is so true.
ReplyDeleteThat is the phrase for me. In fact, who can really claim that one knows oneself so well?
This is so absolutely true, Marty. Incidentally, we are leaving Tucson on Aug. 6 and moving to coastal Georgia.
ReplyDeleteThis is brilliant, NP! Plus, we don't need to know absolutely to be happy :)
