  3. Accepting pain as a necessary part of life - yet embracing all things beautiful. We fight so hard against the thorns and find that the rose remains out of our reach. A beautiful thought, Marty!

    1. Yeah, you're completely right.
But I think that maturity is exactly about ability to accept the beauty of rose without pain from thorns.

  5. I'm with you on this and I score your aphorism 10/10. I hope you don't mind me sharing this but it popped into my mind. "You are responsible, forever, for what you have tamed. You are responsible for your rose. - Antoine de Saint-Exupery"

  7. Nice one NP,

  8. Maturity is accepting the beauty of the rose without fear of the thorns. If they stick you...so what...the rose is still beautiful and worth the risk.

  11. in allowing ourselves to be vulnerable yet receptive, open to all experience, we see the rose for its thorns, as well as its petals.

  12. Saying “yes” to the thorns as well as the roses, that is maturity. Nicely put, Marty!
