I'm with you! At the same time, my definition of 'perfection' has changed over the years. Now 'perfect' doesn't have to be so....well, perfect. It's amazing how many more perfect days I have now!
Marty, you are an optimist! I think “perfect” like “beauty” is in the eye of the beholder. As a perfectionist, I am still striving for that “perfect” day. But I have had some very good days and perhaps parts of those days were even perfect! :)
Perfect! In fact, as I was driving to work today I was thinking the same thing. I was thinking that it was just a wonderful day to be alive...honest! Not that the weather was perfect or anything...just that things are mostly perfect when you allow yourself to actually appreciate your environment instead of worrying about bills, taxes, laundry, etc. etc. etc. What I was really thinking was that I remember having so many 'perfect' days when I was a kid and I continue to look for reminders of them. Then I realized that the only difference is now I have grown-up concerns that can bog me down. I decided to enjoy the day for the day, afterall - it has nothing to do with my nagging worries. Wishing you many many more perfect days ahead!
I tried to rewrite yours in more perfect ways, but I failed, that made yours perfect as far as I'm concerned NOW....it actually strengthened my belief in perfection, as a process, rather than otherwise:):)
Sometimes that perfection does not last the day - but if we seize the little bits, it adds up, it adds up....

ReplyDeleteI've had so many perfect days that I have trouble recalling them all and I do expect the next one may be tomorrow.
