Transcendence

There is something in every creature born that transcends its time and place of birth.

  6. Interesting aphorism, as usual, np.

    Transcendence can be accomplished in degrees, yet (and despite what I consider my logical mind), I believe in astrology and believe the time and place you are born have a great influence on our lives.

    Perhaps, if there is such a thing as freewill, we can even transcend that. ;0)

  7. True - it's just the manifestation of those characteristics that are shaped by the time and place. In other words, the circumstances into which you're born, not just the actual geographical place, has great influence on whether "good" or "bad" sides of you prevail.
    Studies of identical twins, separated at birth, are interesting in this regard (no, I can't quote a specific one!).
