We All Get Wet

The cop, the bartender, the poet! When it rains they all get wet.

  1. This reminds me of the following words of Jesus:

“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust."
    Matthew 5:43-48

  2. There are some things no one can escape. At least we all get wet together. Commiseration ain't all bad. It keeps us connected. ;)

  4. I love the whimsicality in this one :)....Sorrow visits us all, no exceptions really...but we react to them differently..

  5. Yes they all get wet in reality but in perception, the cop, adrenalin rushing may not even notice, the bartender may catch a cold, hating to have to work all night in wet clothes and the poet may just sit in the rain enjoying the experience.

  6. We all experience sadness or happiness in this life....we all have mistakes, we fail, we succeed, we fall, but we all learn how to stand.

  9. Nice message, there are things that connect us all...and usually it is the poet, rather than the scientist, who gets it first, and instantly.

  16. But only the bartender knows how to make a cocktail out of it.

  17. Too bad people don't see the equality the same as the rain does! :)

  20. They should have taken a closer look at the barometer...maybe they should have gone to Specsavers...they'd get a good deal there, and be able to get out of the rain.

  21. "In the earth there are diverse regions side by side and gardens of grapes and cultivated fields, and date-palms sharing one root and others with individual roots, all watered with the same water. And We make some things better to eat than others. There are Signs in that for people who use their intellect." (Surat ar-Ra'd: 4)

  22. This is great! Your blog is awesome, I just found it the other day. This made me laugh a little because of its simple truth and also because I imagined all three of them standing there. I need to dig through your older posts.
