Confidence

When I walk toward the sea I know the sea is there waiting for me.

    It is nice to know there are somethings you can definitely count on, particularly since there are so many things you can't.

    Very nice :)...certainly, 'knowing' is having confidence, and sometimes knowing that it's okay we don't know everything is freeing as well...

    My reading: everything has its positive and negative side. One might be happy to find a sea that can carries him towards his dream. Or his sea might drown him. Too much positive thinking might just be as bad (or as good) as too little positive thinking.

    There is a certain comfort in being able to count on certain things being what they are. Perhaps as we grow in experience, we tend to learn what other things we can count on.

    That really is confidence! :)... I'd also add though that if it starts to recede away from you, run away and find a high ground. There is such a thing as being overly confident and you'd not want to be swept up by the tide.

    Whenever I go to the sea, the waves run away from me, I think they don't like me and get sad, but then they come towards me again and I am filled with happiness for a moment, but they don't seem to like that and leave me again.

    We joined the navy
    to see the world
    and what did we see
    we saw the sea

    We saw the Atlantic
    and the Pacific
    and the Pacific wasn't terrific
    and the Atlantic wasn't what it was cracked up to be.

    etc.
