You can win the lottery, but not an argument.

  3. Ooh... there's fun in this one!

It's nearly impossible to win the lottery, but the moment you begin an argument it's unwinnable...

  4. Right now, I'd take the lotto and be happy...

  5. Does a slamming door count as "winning?"

  6. So true...I don't mind debating but I really don't care for down and dirty arguing.

  7. I have yet to purchase my first lottery ticket -- or to win an argument, for that matter.

  8. Hmmm... The moment we want to believe something, we suddenly see all the arguments for it, and become blind to the arguments against it. So, doesn't lottery win against argument...? Good one! ;-)

Thanks, dear Marty, for sharing your compassionately humane views at my recent blog post -

  9. LOL! I think the odds are probably better on winning an argument than lottery, for me anyway...

  10. Argument is a discussion gone nasty. There is no sense to it. Better to dodge it and answer it with silence.

By the way Marty, I recieved your broadcast but I'm having trouble looking for the dashboard. Hope all is well! :)

  11. I tend to listen more and play less. Works well for me. :-)

  12. Persuasion is a better tool for changing someones mind than argument. Even if you win an argument you still lose, because that person will feel spiteful towards you for being criticized or proven wrong. No one likes to be criticized.

Persuasion on the other hand, winning is possible. Because you can avoid making the other person feel criticized or discredited (and thus spiteful towards you) because he comes up with the answer himself. He is basically arguing for you, with his self, so you don't have to.

Anyway.. lol nice aphorism. This one is really good.

  13. It's so hard to win a lottery but I've a better chance of winning an argument with the lesser known.

  14. I'd prefer keeping a friend for life than winning anything.

Hey, will you please add the 'share buttons' to the end of your posts? I do want to share you daily on Twitter. You're just amazing.

    Much love.

  15. I hate arguing! In fact, one of the best things about my marriage is that Les and I rarely argue--I don't even remember the last time. I don't think I'll ever win the lottery--but I'd rather not go in cicular arguments, that's for sure!
