You don't know how to live. You live.

  1. It's like not having to remember to breathe. I think we paralyze our ability to really live when we put too much pressure on ourselves to know and do everything a certain way. This aphorism allows us a little margin for error, freeing from expectations of what we should be to allow us, instead, to just be.

  2. Acknowledged

Tao Te Ching – Stephen Mitchell, trans.

The tao that can be told
    is not the eternal Tao.
The name that can be named
    is not the eternal Name.

The unnameable is the eternally real.
    Naming is the origin
    of all particular things.

Free from desire, you realize the mystery.
Caught in desire, you see only the manifestations.

    Yet mystery and manifestations
    arise from the same source.
    This source is called darkness.

    Darkness within darkness.
    The gateway to all understanding.

  3. Thanks for another profound message. I was just going through some old papers and saw this quote, if I may share with you:

The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, nor to worry about the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly. - Buddha

Wow, that's 2 messages today about "live." Good old universe is trying to tell me something! :)

  9. Sometimes we need to stop trying to figure out how to live and 'just do it' (Nike).
