Sometimes circumstances, like a death in the family, can temporarily cause someone to lose his sense of wonder.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, he will recover it.
Absolutely! I've always equated cynicism with old fogeyhood, so your aphorism makes perfect sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI agree! I also think the day you lose your sense of humor is the day you grow old.:)
ReplyDeleteAt my age, I find plenty of things awesome! Well, then, that just makes me feel so young :)
ReplyDeleteThat is apt, Maty, I guess we tend to turn inwards as we grow older, closing our eyes to the endless wonders of the world.
ReplyDeleteSpot on. I used to joke that you know you're old when your morning face IS your face. I don't make any more age jokes... :)
ReplyDeleteLovely. In my estimation, the best way to keep your sense of wonder is to re-experience the world by guiding a child.
ReplyDeleteThat's right NP. Let's keep our minds young for as long as possible.
ReplyDeleteYes!! I've lost sight of mine recently....but I never gave up. Thank you for this xoxo
ReplyDeleteSome people never lose theirs. I hope to be one of them.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! It is the sense of wonder that keep life so interesting to us, thus we can only love life more.
ReplyDeleteI can vouch for that! -- And, also, incontinence occurs!
ReplyDeleteVery true NP....experience only ages you. lol
ReplyDeleteThis is very true. One of the fun parts of having a child is getting a chance to be reminded of this in often surprising ways.
ReplyDeleteLaw' -- what larks!
ReplyDeleteThat's my philosophy, too, NP. I hope to never grow old. There is so much to experience!
ReplyDeleteGreat aphorism, Marty! Yes, maintaining a sense of wonder always keeps you young at heart.
ReplyDeleteGreat one NP.
ReplyDeleteThankfully I feel our world will always be wondrous to me.
