My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
In that case, I live an exceedingly luxurious life.

Your aphorism reminds me of my favorite scene from the film "American Beauty" in which Ricky Fitts, an introverted teenage videographer describes how beauty is contained in the most unlikely of things:
ReplyDelete"It was one of those days when it's a minute away from snowing and there's this electricity in the air, you can almost hear it. Right? And this bag was just dancing with me. Like a little kid begging me to play with it. For fifteen minutes. That's the day I realized that there was this entire life behind things, and this incredibly benevolent force that wanted me to know there was no reason to be afraid, ever. Video's a poor excuse, I know. But it helps me remember... I need to remember... Sometimes there's so much beauty in the world, I feel like I can't take it, and my heart is just going to cave in.

Kris, I love that scene!
ReplyDeleteBeauty is in the eye of the beholder they say. I wish I was able to only see beautiful things NP.
ReplyDeleteI find that through the lens of a camera you can find beauty almost anywhere.
ReplyDeleteThis is so true. Sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing so I can just enjoy my life.
ReplyDeleteSo well said Marty... Many thanks
