The Cherry Trees

If the cherry trees had to wait for understanding they would never blossom.

  1. Love it! I don't have to understand to enjoy; I don't have to know why to choose how and when; I don't need to comprehend the complicated mechanisms of the inner workings of my brain to reap the benefits of owning one. Love it!

  2. If people waited until they understood before doing and saying certain things the world would be a much happier place.

  5. Trees "tree", bees "bee", flowers flower", but instead of "being", we humans are preoccupied with "what if" and "why?" John Lennon said it best: "Life is what happens to you while you're busy making other plans." Wait for the right time, and you'll only keep yourself waiting; follow your intuition, and you'll never have to worry about the time.

  6. Marty, we have made the decision to leave Tucson, and move to coastal Georgia. We have a contract on a house there, and put our house on the market here. What does this have to do with the cherry tree? One of my mottos is "whatever happens, happens."

  7. This reminds me of the movie 'Stranger than Fiction'. I do not like to live myself with activity lists decided for a month in advance or living by a set of defined rules. I am however a great fan of impulsive actions. I do that a lot and some of the best things in my life life have come from it. I got my first guitar out of impulse and that turned out to be the best decision I have ever made. And of course if you do things by impulse, somewhere there will be some risks. Of course, the uncertainties and surprises in life worth living.

  8. beautifully put!
i agree. i think following our intuition (or feeling) is the way to let the flowers of life blossom fully. as a person who enjoy reasoning also adventure, i think reason (or understanding) can only do for our good when it was taken as an exercise or enjoyment, not a method to reach certain practical "destination".

  10. Very true, NP! We are already 'understanding' enough. Trust in our existence, its sensibilities, is a great thing.

  11. Such a true statement on understanding, Marty! Just like the cherry trees, if we wait for understanding, we may never bloom. We have to just proceed forward with the path of our lives with or without understanding.

  14. Moving forward is important, one shouldn't let themselves get stuck on the "Why?"
