I used to think love was the most important thing. Now I think everything is.

  1. I don't know. I don't place equal importance on everything, so I guess I disagree. Health and happiness are up there with me. If I've got both, I'm set.

  4. I'd have to say, and to qualify let me start with I'm not a religious person, but I'd have to say that I do believe that a relationship with a power greater than myself is the single most important thing in my life, and allows all the other important ones to be more fulfilling.

  5. That truly depends on where your love is directed, and how much are you getting back. Hmm, that one makes me think, it's not so black and white to me.

  6. It seems to me that if you have true love, then you can't help but think that everything and everyone is important.

  7. To me, today is just another day of the year. Why do I have to show how I feel on this particular day when I do it on many instances every day?

  8. I agree..because all things are important however small it is. we only realize they are important at times we badly needed them...

  9. Well it can't be everything, because some things are horrible, unfair, unjust, cruel and evil. @ Judie...Chocolate is pretty awesome and important!! Haha. I think Love is important but the MOST? Maybe its in the top five...Happiness, Wisdom, Health and Kindness are all up there too...

  10. Don't want to love something to the point where you do things that are detrimental to the thing you love... everything in moderation :D

  12. Yes, EVERYTHING is important no matter how distasteful and must be dealt with if it arises in your life. Auschwitz, Rwanda, Hiroshima, Viet Nam, Pol Pot, Stalin, and on and on including the all the horrors of Mother Nature. All the horrors of the Past: Genghis Kahn, Tamerlane,
Vlad the Impaler, and on and on. Explain cruelty, war, greed, racism, and turn your face to what is left: parental love, love for things, people, places, etc. EVERYTHING includes every thing you dislike, hate, fear, evil, jealousy, EVERYTHING... Deal with it

  13. You are a blessed man when you know how to appreciate every beautiful thing in life, and transcend all that are not.

  14. Certainly Profound ! Once we deeply realise that everything is important & nothing is actually separate from us - we are given to understand it's all bliss ! Grateful

  15. There are many things in life that are important in life, but I would've to go with happiness. If you're happy then this influences everything else you do in life, because you start from a positive place. This can help a lot to see through all the negativity that floats around in society.

  16. I agree with you....i used to have my heart out there on my sleeve and my heart waiting to be loved the same way i was able to love. Today there seems to be so much more than just Love, there is respect, trust, honesty, understanding, communicating, forgiving etc....

  17. no...nothing is that importent...not even death. But it's important that nothing is important...I kid you not. But then again, knowing how to spell is important. That's important...just as important as everything else.

  18. On the surface at first I disagreed - Love, hate, joy and sadness all equal. I changed my mind when thinking without sadness there would be no joy; without hate we would not know love.

Marty, I send my compliments on this aphorism and for the meditation..

  19. I think everything important is love.

  20. Dear Marty, health is very important actually. If you have health, it's easier to appreciate other things in life. But once health is guaranteed, we have the luxury to take other things for granted. Nothing is that important but living to be the best version of yourself. I think. :)
