Marty, there is no stopping love of people, places and things, except perhaps when one is an ascetic. Living as one pleases though may not always be possible.
I sometimes wonder when and how we started to believe that there are things we should and shouldn't do. Ultimately we can do anythings we desire, as long as we aren't hurting anyone.
There ain't no rule in spirituality, like no dictator can dictate our mind, though the physical world (including human relationship, like rules of courtship and child caring) plays by rules (or plays by different rule).
