My daily aphorisms. Reflections on life, death, beauty, change, love, happiness, etc., written in a poetic and whimsical style.
Very true Marty. It reminds me of that Tao story where a master didn't stop pouring tea after filling the cup and later asked the attendant to empty himself in order to fulfill.
ReplyDeleteThis is something I've found overall to be true. So often, effort brings about a sort of tunnel vision or distrust that actually limits possibilities. Makes more sense to sit back, relax, and let life's mysteries unfold.
ReplyDeleteEventually, they will all come to you: happiness, pain, life and death. Our actions may only hasten, postpone, dilute or intensify the experience.
ReplyDeleteYou have to be careful where you stand, or some waves will come right over you.
ReplyDeleteBig fan of the beach, Marty -- and patiently waiting.
ReplyDeleteInteresting, although I suppose you have to get to the shore before the waves have the opportunity to really come to you.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful thought, Marty. Makes me want to visit the beach. :)
ReplyDeleteGood aphorism, Marty! Yes, don’t force the issue, just let it flow. The waves that leave the shore will always return to the shore in time.
